Fencing Example Quotes

Timber Hand Built Hit and Miss Fence
For this example we are just going to use a straight run of 5m with no corners, the style of fencing is going to be timber hit and miss which is all built onsite (no use of pre built panels). We always use 100mm x 100mm fence posts and each one will be set into the ground using 2 bags of postfix at a depth of approx 400mm into the ground we will then construct the fence usingh 38mm x 88mm fencing rails and then 19mm x 100mm fence palings. The height of the fence does depend on the job and the customers preference but on this example we have gone for a 1.8m high fence, which is regarded as the highest fence you can have in most circumstances. This example also is including double sided palings just as it gives a more private feel to any fenced in space, and also we will be using (for this example) a piece of land that has had no fence constructed on it previously.

The quote is once again broken down into 2 main areas -

Number of labour days needed to complete the work
Materials needed to complete the work
So for this example we will require the following -

3 Labour Days
4 100mm x 100mm Fence Posts
5 3.6m Fence Rails
80 1.8m Fence Palings
8 Bags of Postfix
4 Post Caps
1 Bag of 75mm Nails
1 Bag of 50mm Nails
This would all add up to £1210
